Mr. Ayoub Mtafya is a Partner at NexLaw Advocates, an Advocate of the High Court and also a Registered Tax Consultant with Tanzania Revenue Authority. He is a holder of LL.M (Taxation) (Dar), LL.B (Hons) (Dar), Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Management (PGDTM), Institute of Finance Management (IFM). He has also attended a short course (Investment Lawyers Course) that was organized by International Development Law Organization in Rome, Italy.
Mr. Mtafya has attended a Special Course in Legislative Drafting which was organized by Georgetown University in collaboration with International Law Institute (ILI), in Washington D.C. His areas of expertise are Taxation, Banking, Corporate, Legislative Drafting, General litigation and Arbitration. Mr. Mtafya has advised both for profit and not profit organizations on tax law. He has represented clients in the Tax Revenue Appeals Board, Tax Appeals Tribunal and in the Court of Appeal on tax matters. He has handled receivership, recovery of debts on behalf of banks, winding up of companies as a liquidator, secured licenses for clients from various regulatory authorities including the Bank of Tanzania, Contractors Registration Board and Tanzania Investment Center.
Mr. Mtafya has advised clients on Merger and Acquisition, Syndicated loans and other Areas. He has over 14 years experience in litigation and has represented reputable clients in Arbitration. He is a member of Tanganyika Law Society, East Africa Law Society and CEO Round Table of Tanzania.
