On Tuesday 24th of May 2022 ;The Rwanda High Commission joined forces with the CEO Roundtable of Tanzania (CEOrt) to spur private/public interest in the upcoming Commonwealth Business Forum 2022 slated to take place on the 21st – 23rd of June 2022 in Kigali Rwanda. As a build up to that event, the members of the CEOrt, dignitaries and government officials convened at the Hyatt Regency Kilimanjaro Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
Every two years, Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) meet to discuss how they may pool their resources and ideas to turn shared challenges into new opportunities. In 2022, the Commonwealth Business Forum 2022 will be hosted in Rwanda and will be the first and largest in-person gathering for Governments and Business across the Commonwealth since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the members’ engagement, the CEOrt welcomed Hon. Dr. Peter Mathuki Secretary General of the East African Community, Hon. Ms. Lousie Kanyonga, ChiefStrategist of Rwanda Development Board & Mr. John Bosco Kalisa, CEO & Executive Director of the East African Business Council as keynote speakers and Guests of Honour. H.E. Major General Charles Karamba, Rwanda High Commissioner to Tanzania to deliver the opening remarks as business, government and members of the diplomatic community set to open discussions on the role of government and the private sector in reinvigorating the global economy.
