Energy Security as a Catalyst for Economic Development

Summary

We began the year 2024  with an overview of the country’s economic landscape and its impact on the business environment getting insights into the key sectors driving economic growth whilst highlighting the unspoken challenges within the business environment. This aimed to collectively identify opportunities to tackle these challenges, thereby making a positive impact and contributing to the country’s economic growth trajectory.

Taking centre stage was a panel discussion featuring Mr Gilman Kasiga, Country Manager for Tanzania at GE Vernova International LLC, Dr Sebastian Acevedo, Resident Representative at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Mr Lawrence Mafuru, which touched on energy security, institutional reforms for economic growth, and the impact of fiscal policy on the investment climate.
