Vikram Bipin Desai
Managing Director
Vikram is the Managing Director of DWL, and is responsible for driving the progress and development of the business and its brands including the steering the development of new store openings and other business opportunities like the recent acquisition of KFC.
He is an accomplished leader and manager with several years of hands-on experience and a particular expertise in the Quick Service Restaurant industry and Supply Chain Management within frontier markets. He is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Vikram is accustomed to working under pressure and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Additionally, he holds numerous other Board Level appointments, including Board Member and Chairman of the Investment Committee at Strategis Insurance (<em>2<sup>nd</sup> largest private insurance company in Tanzania</em>), and is a Director at Chai Bora (<em>largest tea producer in Tanzania).</em>
Vikram’s prior experience includes running Dabaga Vegetable & Fruit Canning Co for almost a decade. The Company was later successfully sold to an International Private Equity Fund, for which Vikram led the negotiations.

Dough Works Limited (“DWL”) is the franchise holder of Pizza Hut in Tanzania, a global Quick Service Restaurant (“QSR”) chain. DWL currently operates 5 stores in Dar-es-Salaam. In order to take advantage of the growing consumption in Tanzania and the appeal of global brands like Pizza Hut, DWL plans to open additional stores, not only in Dar but also in other main towns in Tanzania. In addition, DWL will seek to add more international brands under its portfolio.
