Managing Director

Eng. Ibrahim overlooks the East African Region for Elsewedy Electric. For over 13 years Ibrahim has executed the company’s strategic direction, managing operations in 9 countries across east Africa. He has operational responsibilities and works on refining long-term relationships with our stakeholders, in addition to establishing several new facilities and expanding Elsewedy’s global footprint in Africa.
He has recently inaugurated the company’s 1st Industrial Complex manufacturing wires & cables, transformers, and water & electricity meters in Tanzania, which will become the new hub for Elsewedy Electric manufacturing our full portfolio in the region.
Prior to working at Elsewedy, he managed several managerial positions in energy, infrastructure, projects planning and contracting in several multinationals, including Schneider Electric.
Ibrahim holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (specialising in Globalization) from Maastricht school of management (MSM) in the Netherlands in addition to a B.Sc. in Electrical Power & Machines from Ain Shams University in Cairo complemented by more than 25 years of Career in the field of power and energy industries.
Ibrahim participated in several conferences and forums in and outside EGYPT. He also serves as a board member of 5-companies, including Elsewedy Electric East Africa Limited-Tanzania, Elsewedy Cables-Ethiopia, Elsewedy International Business Limited-Kenya, NEC- Elsewedy Development Limited Uganda and NEC- Elsewedy Industries Limited-Uganda.
In his free time, Ibrahim enjoys reading, watching & criticizing movies, hiking & jogging among various outdoor activities, as well as playing squash.
